This HALLOWEEN BAT TREAT BAG CRAFT is great fun for making this spooky season. Whether you are planning on going Trick or Treating, are hosting a Halloween party or are enjoying a quiet family Halloween at home, these bat goodie bags are a great way to collect all your sweets and candy!
These bat party bags are easy to make with a paper plate and some black cardstock. They have a simple ribbon handle so you can wear them across your shoulder and be hands free.
Once you’ve made one paper plate treat bag it’s easy to adapt the idea to come up with other fun ideas too. We’ve just made a Frankenstein and Witch treat bag too but I haven’t got round to photographing them yet, so pop back soon to take a peek.
We’re not going Trick or Treating this year but we will be using our bat treat bags to store our tasty treats while we enjoy a family Halloween movie night. Yum!

How To Make A Bat Party Bag
1 – Paint the underside of a paper plate black and leave to dry.
2 – When your paper plate is dry then cut it in half.
3 – Fold a piece of black cardstock in half and cut out a simple bat wing shape to make two matching wings.
4 – Glue a bat wing on to the underside of a paper plate half. Do the same on both sides.
5 – Add features to your bat treat bag front by glueing on some wiggle eyes.
6 – Then draw a smile and some fangs with the white Posca paint pen. If you don’t have a white pen you could use paint or cut them out of white paper instead.
6 – Cut a length of green ribbon long enough to make a should strap for your treat bag. Sticky tape each end to the edge of the paper plate behind the wings. Then staple the other half of the paper plate on along the curved edge. Keep your staples fairly close together so that the candy won’t fall out.
7 – Now you can fill your bat treat bag with lots of delicious treats for a super fun Halloween night!
