DIY Outdor Hanging String Lights
Supplies:
Eyelets
Poles
Step 1.
Paint the poles and attach them to the fence. Place the eyelets in each end of the poles.
Step 2.
Decide for your design and tie the mason cord to each eyelets.
Step 3.
Drape string lights from the poles, secure each lights to the cord and that’s it!
Note: The mason cord is not mandatory, but the biggest benefit is the cord will keep the string light cord from stretching out over time, prolonging the life of the lights.
Hopefully, wherever you are the sun will be setting soon. Pour yourself some bubbles, plug in your string lights, sit back, and enjoy the scene for all it’s worth.

What a great idea. I spent most of this spring and summer renoing the inside of my house.
My wife and I just finished renoing our house after living here for 10 years. I think she figures since I’m a stay at home dad I need to have a masive list of projects. So I resurfaced out kitchen countertops and epoxyed them, refinished all the kitchen cupboards as well. Repainted the kitchen, dining room living room walls. Built from scratch a new diningroom table and chairs, as well as a custom standing mirror…

I recently upgraded my backyard in a similar way and my family just loves it. It’s amazing how such a simple thing can create an atmosphere so romantic and soothing.

If you are after a more natural look, the technique of downlighting in landscape lighting is an easy way to achieve it. Hide your lighting fixtures in trees, and direct them down through the leaves and branches, similar to the moonlight, but specifically pointed at the ground.
If you don’t have any trees, you can attach the fixtures on walls or garden structures, anything with some decent height. You can downlight plant and ground areas along with pathways via taller fixtures that are mounted on the floor.
