There’s something about the cooler weather that just makes me feel like it’s time to pull on the craft supplies and make something pretty for my house. I took the inspiration from my Søstrene Grene – Autumn/ Christmas Material Mood Boards that I did earlier this week.

I’ve come up with the idea to make these transitional DIY Modern Christmas Ornaments that you can use on the fall/ Thanksgiving table and later hang them on your Christmas tree.
So twice the fun with these darlings, pretty nice, right?
DIY Modern Christmas Ornaments Tutorial
Supplies
Glue Gun
A Pair of Scissors
Beads
Batting
Optional: Wire or thread if you want to hang these Mushroom darlings.
Note: ALL supplies and tools are from Søstrene Grene. Craft Supplies & tools will be available from Sept. 27.
Step 1.
Cut out all your felt pieces; One stem shape (pictured with white felt) plus two circles, one large circle (mustard coloured-felt) and one slightly smaller circle (white felt).
Step 2.
Glue the circles together. little by little. Make “loop holes” along the edge like pictured.
Step 3.
Before closing the mushroom, add a little batting inside the “hat”.
Step 4.
For the white mushroom stem piece, fold it in half as pictured. Add batting inside while glueing the stem together.
Step 5.
Start embellishing. Both along the side of the stem…
And place a large bead in each “loop hole”, the ones you did earlier.
Add a generous amount of glue and smaller beads on the top!
Step 6.
Connect the stem to the “top” of the mushroom with glue. Add a string to hang them or leave them without, and use them as embellishments for a fall centerpiece.
I love all of the delicate small pieces on my Christmas tree, the baubles, garlands and snowflakes but to give another texture and shape, I will be adding these DIY Modern Christmas Ornaments to my tree this year.

I repeat myself but your mushrooms are too cute.
I found them even better with pearls than models sold several seasons ago on Anthropology.
Colors make for autumn and Christmas.

Nice and unique idea to make the new decoration for the home or party place. And also this idea is good for dressmaking. I get more ideas to decore my house also. I am happy to learn more about mushrooms.
