How to Create Map Letters

August 13, 2014 | by Molly Mahoney

I saw some map letters similar to this on Etsy. I decided to make a standing letter version for a friend who has a Paris themed guest bedroom. Instead of using a random map, I wanted something that actually had some meaning so I printed off various maps of Paris. A few of them were vintage and added a unique look to the letters. This would be a fun project with some maps you brought back from your last trip as well.

Materials Needed:

  • Standing Wood Letters. I’m using 8 inch tall ones in the Windsor El BT font
  • Maps, I just printed mine from the Internet
  • White spray paint
  • Spray adhesive, I’m using one found here. You could use Mod Podge.
  • Razor knife
