About

get the new app

This is craftgawker's biggest and best redesign yet! We listened to your feedback, added all the features you requested and completely rebuilt the app. This universal app is free to try, but limited to 72 posts per screen with an in-app purchase to access all posts. This app is ad-free with the exception of ads on external blog links.

** This is NOT an update or upgrade of the craftgawker lite app! The original iPhone app is now called craftgawker lite and is still free to use. **

*** All access in-app purchases are separate for iPhone and iPad. As always, free access to all posts available on craftgawker.com and craftgawker lite iPhone app. ***

FAQs

Why is there an in-app purchase to view all posts?

The universal app is ad free. We need to monetize the app to continue adding new features and make improvements to the apps and websites. We also need to cover our design, development, testing and hosting costs. The craftgawker lite iPhone app is still free and has access to all posts, but lacks the enhanced features of the universal app.

Why do I have to pay separately for iPhone and iPad all access?

Although this is a universal app, the user experience of the app is different on iPhone and iPad. We still have to design, develop, test and optimize the app independently for iPhone and iPad. Instead of bundling the iPhone and iPad in-app purchase (IAP) at a higher price ($3.99), we decided to have separate IAPs for iPhone and iPad at lower prices ($1.99). We didn't want to charge the higher bundled IAP price when someone may only have one device.

What is the difference between the "craftgawker" and "craftgawker lite" apps?

The "craftgawker lite" app is the original iPhone app launched in 2011. It is a free, ad supported app that provides access to all posts. The universal "craftgawker" app is a free to try, ad-free app that requires an in-app purchase to view all posts. The "craftgawker" app has been completely rebuilt and has all the improvements and new features listed above, which are not found in the lite version of the app.
