Es ist mal wieder soweit: Nach dem chinesischen Mondkalender beginnt heute das neue Jahr, und 2014 ist das Jahr des Pferdes. Natürlich gibt es hier wieder ein Papertoy-Freebie! Ich wünsch Euch viel Glück fürs neue Jahr und viel Spaß beim Basteln! Vielleicht macht jemand ja eine kleine Herde und schickt mir ein Bild? Das wäre toll!

The time has come once more: today is the chinese lunar new year and the year of the horse begins. And obviously I have another papertoy freebie for you! Good Luck for the new year and have fun with the papertoy! Maybe someone will make a whole herd and send me some pictures? This would be fun!

Here are the instructions:

Print out the the template

Start with scoring all the dashed folding lines

Cut out all parts with a sharp x-acto knife

cut

and cut

and cut

and cut

and don’t forget the slots!

cut the mane and the tail more generously, you will cut the exact shape later

glue together the tail parts

and the mane

and now you can cut on the lines

cut the fringe

…

at the tail, too

Now fold all the flaps

form a curve and glue it to the flat horse as shown. (the narrow part must align with the back/neck corner

as shown here

go on glueing

and bend the paper to the shape as you go

then glue on the back part

don’t forget the leg

now you can glue the other horse shape on top

make sure everything aligns

fold the carrot (Your horse might be hungry)

assemble

roll up the carrot ‚greens‘

stick it in the hole

Almost done! Put the mane into the precut slots

and do the same with the tail

Finished

If you want your horse to stand a little sturdier, you can use this little part.

just make a little slot at the right hindleg, put it in and glue it to the leg.
